About 1000 educators, advisors and leaders who support, provide or are interested in military and veteran education will be meeting in San Diego 25-28 February at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel for the 40th anniversary of the Council of College and Military Educators (CCME). The 3-day symposium will focus on the educational opportunities for the entire military community. Several hundred exhibitors and numerous topnotch speakers will address all aspects of military and veteran education. The 40th anniversary of the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC) will also be celebrated.

According to Joycelyn Groot, CCME President, “The annual symposium is a premier professional development opportunity for the military education and training community. CCME is the only organization whose sole purpose is to engage various constituencies who seek to create, enhance, and deliver education and support services that meet the needs of the military community. It's a chance to partake in relevant training, share best practices, learn about new or changing government regulations, participate in presentations, and engage in discussions. It's an environment intended to bridge knowledge and skills gaps to enhance our ability to serve our nation's heroes.”

    About CCME:

CCME, a not-for-profit organization, was founded 39 years ago to promote, encourage, and deliver quality education to service members and their families in all branches of the armed services. Its membership is principally composed of military educators, civilian educators, post-secondary educational institutions, and suppliers of quality education products and services. The CCME symposium is the largest annual forum in the country with an expected attendance of about 1000 participants. The annual symposium facilitates the networking and interaction of the key leadership across these organizations in an environment that is focused on enhancing and optimizing voluntary education opportunities for the service member and their families.
