The U.S. Middle East Partnership Iniative (MEPI) and ALO, in cooperation with USAID and the U.S. Department of State, are issuing a call for applications for the U.S. - Middle East University Partnerships Program. ALO will conduct a peer-reviewed competition to award up to eight (8) grants of up to $100,000 each over a two-year period to implement cooperative partnerships between higher education institutions in the United States and Arab universities located in Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, the West Bank and Gaza, and Yemen.

ALO seeks applications for cooperative higher education partnerships to strengthen Arab universities' programs in one of the following disciplines: (1) American Studies; (2) Business Administration and Economics; (3) Teacher Education; (4) Information and Communication Technologies; and (5) Media and Journalism.
