ALO, in cooperation with USAID/Mexico, is issuing this Request for Applications (RFA) for the United States - Mexico Training, Internships, Exchanges, and Scholarships (TIES) Initiative. For this TIES Phase II RFA, ALO anticipates recommending approximately ten (10) applications for awards of up to $500,000 each, for completion by September 2008, in the areas of 1) Rural and Micro-finance; 2) Democracy; 3) Environment; 4) Rural Prosperity for Small-Scale Producers; and 5) Health. Successful applicant institutions will have significant private sector involvement and propose at least ten long-term (two academic semesters) scholarships for Mexicans to be embedded within a partnership, in addition to other training, internships, and exchanges.
