Concurrent Book Discussion
The Art and Practice of Leadership
Book discussions with a “brown bag” lunch are scheduled for Monday from 12:30-2 p.m. at Summer Council. Featured works are A Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln by Doris Kearns Goodwin, The Contrarian’s Guide to Leadership by Stephen B. Sample and Running Alone: Presidential Leadership from JFK to Bush II: Why It Has Failed and How We Can Fix It by James McGregor Burns. Discussion leaders for each session are, respectively, Howard Cohen, chancellor, Purdue University Calumet, Elaine Maimon, president, and Mort Maimon, Governors State University (Ill.) and Joe Gow, chancellor, University of Wisconsin La Crosse. Discussion will focus on the implications for those in leadership roles.
