2019 AASCU/NAFSA Institute for Senior International Officers
Monday, February 18, 2019 to Wednesday, February 20, 2019The American Association of State Colleges and
Universities (AASCU) and NAFSA: Association of International Educators are
pleased to announce the 2019 Institute for Senior International Officers.
Designed for senior
international officers (SIOs) working on AASCU member campuses, the institute
offers participants an introduction to, and examination of the key skills and
knowledge a SIO must master as a leader of internationalization at a public
comprehensive college or university.
About the Conference
Participants of this focused and practical professional development institute will benefit from sessions led by a group of experienced internationalization leaders and topical experts. This institute is ideal for senior administrators with less than five years of experience that want to deepen their knowledge, expertise and leadership skills.
The two-and-a-half-day program will introduce participants to key issues in the critical subject areas for which SIOs are responsible. The program will address topics including principles of internationalization, risk management, international education leadership, strategic partnership development, curriculum internationalization, outcomes assessment, resource development, budget management, and the “culture” of international educational exchange.
Registration must be completed by Friday, January 18, 2019.
The SIO institute will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, February 18 and end on Wednesday, February 20 at 2 p.m.
Registration for a Senior International Officer: $995
The fee includes all program sessions and materials and an opening reception, lunch and refreshments at all breaks. Registered SIOs are expected to participate in all program activities.

Cancellation & Refund Policytop
If you must cancel your registration, you will receive a full refund if the cancellation is before 5 p.m. EST Friday, January 18th, 2019. There will be a 50% cancellation fee after that date.
