AASCU is pleased to announce our 16th Sino-American Conference in Beijing, October 15-25, 2017.
for the past fifteen years, we have taken AASCU senior leaders (presidents,
provosts, international officers, deans, department heads, and faculty) to
China to participate in a series of activities designed to create and sustain
educational partnerships in China.
About the Conference
New Features and Add-on Values for This Year's AASCU Participants
- Education B2B organized by the China Annual Conference for International Education (CACIE)
AASCU will participate in the Education B2B this year. It is a great opportunity for participating universities to meet with partners or potential partners for further discussion on educational cooperation. This is a free event. However, registration with AASCU is required due to the limited space and time. (We will inform you of the B2B meeting schedule details later for your specific institution).
- Institution Promotion Mini-sessions
These sessions are organized by the China Center for International Educational Exchange (CCIEE) for participating universities to meet with parents and students for recruiting and school promotion. It is a free event and we will reserve 10 slots for AASCU participating institutions (each slot is 20 minutes) for our participating universities. (First come first serve policy)

This year the 16th AASCU-sponsored annual trip to China offers participants two options:
OPTION #1 - Beijing, China (October 15-23, 2017)

The program includes participation in a major international conference put on by our Chinese partner association, the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE). The Theme for the 2017 China Annual Conference for International Education is “International Education Empowers Global Sustainable Development.” More information can be found at
You will have opportunities to interact with world education leaders on topics of mutual interest. You can also participate in an EXPO that attracts more than 50,000 Chinese students who are interested in education abroad. During our time in Beijing, we schedule time for a series of discussions including seminars and sessions discussion with our Chinese higher education association partners. We also provide a variety of cultural and tourist events to better understand Chinese history and culture. Participants often schedule trips before or after the conference to visit potential or current partner universities in other parts of China.
This trip represents an extraordinary opportunity to be introduced to or deepen your understanding of partnerships in China, we urge you to consider joining us in Beijing.

AASCU, in partnership with Zizhu International Education Park in Shanghai, has opened the Sino-American Higher Education Leadership Center for Innovation. This new facility is designed to promote international education and exchange; professional development for senior administrators/faculty; and student recruitment to AASCU member campuses. This fee-based opportunity for AASCU colleges and universities will provide a comprehensive office environment for the development of international education and exchange resources and a full service platform to promote AASCU member institutions in China.
Please join AASCU in Shanghai for the Annual Innovation Center visit and meetings. There will also be cultural activities in the Shanghai area.

OPTION #1 - Beijing Only - $895
The registration fee includes:
- Conference registration
- Conference banquet and reception
- Ground transportation to and from the Beijing airport
- Local (program-related) transportation in Beijing
- Meeting room rentals
- Expo registration
- Rental of a shared AASCU booth for student recruitment
- City and Great Wall sightseeing, plus guides and entry tickets
OPTION #2 - Beijing-Shanghai - $985
The registration fee includes:
- Ground transportation (to and from the Shanghai airport)
- Local transportation in Shanghai
- Tuesday night banquet
- Cultural activities
- Items covered in Option #1
Registration fees do NOT include:
- Visas for entry into China
- Travel insurance
- Shanghai and Beijing hotel charges
- Roundtrip US-China airline tickets
- Other domestic travel while in China
- All personal expenses, individual sightseeing
- All other personal activities while in China
** We will book group flight tickets from Beijing to Shanghai estimated at $300 per person for the airline ticket. We will bill you for the air ticket once we have the actual cost.

**We will reserve all hotel and local transportation for airport pickups. The estimated price per person is $200-$250 rate each night for a hotel room. You can pay the hotel directly when you check out.
AASCU has a block of rooms reserved. AASCU will make ALL hotel reservations in Beijing and Shanghai. Please make sure that you send your Hotel Confirmation Form ONLY to AASCU if you want to stay at the designated hotel with the group. Please do not make reservations directly with the hotel. All travelers will be met at the Beijing Airport by AASCU/CEAIE staff and transportation will be provided to the designated group hotel ONLY. Please note, you will only be met if an Airline Confirmation Form is sent to AASCU. Download and complete Airline Confirmation Form (Available soon)
Cancellation & Refund Policytop
If you must cancel your registration, you will receive a full refund if the cancellation is submitted in writing to Jody Dixon before 5 p.m. EST Monday, October 2, 2017. Cancellations received after this date will be charged a $400 administrative fee that will be used to pay for your conference registration and pre-arranged services in China.
