Council of State Representatives (CSR) Spring Meeting

Wednesday, March 21, 2012 to Friday, March 23, 2012
Washington, D.C.

AASCU’s Council of State Representatives includes representation from all 50 states and U.S. territories. The Council is comprised of college and university presidents and chancellors, system heads, and state coordinating board executives. The Council advises staff on higher education public policy issues, helps formulate the Association’s annual Public Policy Agenda, and assists the staff in carrying out the Agenda’s legislative priorities through contacts with stakeholders and members, including the Federal government and members of Congress. AASCU’s Division of Government Relations and Policy Analysis is greatly informed by the Council.

About the Conference

The Council is currently chaired by Mary Evans Sias, President, Kentucky State University.

CSR members will be briefed in advance in preparation of their visits to Capitol Hill to advocate for higher education policy on behalf of AASCU institutions. Several speakers have been invited to inform the Council on current higher education policy issues. Council members will also engage in a roundtable on current higher education issues across the states in addition to innovations in higher education.
