AASCU Graduates: The Difference We Make
University of Missouri–St. Louis
Danielle Lee was named a “Champion of Change” by the White House last year. A scientist who can frequently be found conducting research in Tanzania, the African-American woman has loved science and nature for as long as she can remember. In addition to her research examining the behavior of African giant pouched rats, which are used to sniff out land mines (which cause between 15,000 and 20,000 deaths per year), Lee has worked tirelessly to make science and STEM more accessible to traditionally underserved and underrepresented groups.
