AASCU Graduates: The Difference We Make
Truman State University
Since losing her father to brain cancer, Kanna Rook has remained active with the American Cancer Society. In 2012, she moved from volunteering for the ACS to working for the organization full-time as a community manger. Rook oversees Relay For Life fundraising events in five counties. Last year, she was responsible for helping raise more than $325,000 through events she coordinated. Including participating with her own team in St. Charles, Mo., and covering an extra event as a community manager, she had a hand in seven Relays in 2014, which brought her total to roughly $368,000 raised for the ACS.
