AASCU Graduates: The Difference We Make
Weber State University
Todd Rose is the director of the Mind, Brain, and Education program at the Harvard Graduate
School of Education, where he leads the Laboratory for the Science of the Individual. He
recently published his new book, The End of Average: How We Succeed in a World That
Values Sameness. Todd came to Weber State, an open-admissions university, in the late 1990s as a high school dropout with a 0.9 grade point average. Today, he believes that “the average” is a
mythical yardstick that hurts everyone. His mission is to help the public understand the
importance of the individual.
