Paige St. John reached journalism’s pinnacle by receiving the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for investigative reporting. This was the result of a three-year examination of disaster insurance in Florida for the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. She also earned awards from Investigative Reporters and Editors, and Sigma Delta Chi for “Florida’s Insurance Nightmare.” She earned a bachelor’s in mass communications from SIUE in 1986 and has been an investigative reporter for more than three decades. In addition, St. John has served as the capital bureau chief for Gannett News in Florida, an environmental reporter for The Detroit News and as an Associated Press correspondent.
