Rose Kirk serves as president of the Verizon Foundation's arm that is responsible for the company’s philanthropy strategy. This job provides leverage for Verizon’s technology, partnership, and employee and financial resources to improve social issues. Kirk was named one of the “Most Influential Black Women in Business” by The Network Journal. She began her career as a news reporter at the Pine Bluff Commercial before working at the Florence Times Daily. Since joining Verizon, Kirk led product line management and strategic planning and marketing implementation teams within the company. She is also chair of the board of directors for the national Domestic Violence Hotline.
