Samuel Dominey, Jr. is president and chairman of General Nucleonics Inc., of Pomona, California, where he developed a helicopter main rotor blade crack detection system called the Inflight Blade Inspection System (IBIS). IBIS is used by the U.S. president's fleet of helicopters, all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, as well as many foreign countries, and has saved a number of helicopters from crashing. He worked as a nuclear physicist for General Dynamics, the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Lockheed Aircraft, Westinghouse Corp. and Giannini Controls. Dominey and his staff have a number of patents using nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
