Announcement
The Millennium Leadership Initiative (MLI) participant selection committee, under the leadership of John Garland, president of Central State University, has selected 30 protégés to participate in the 2008 Millennium Leadership Initiative. The MLI Institute is scheduled June 14-17, 2008 in Washington, D.C. at the Hotel Palomar. Current and former presidents and chancellors from around the country will comprise the prestigious faculty.
The MLI provides promising senior administrators, who are traditionally underrepresented in the highest ranks of higher education, a focused leadership development program. The MLI helps participants determine if the presidency is a realistic goal and affords them the opportunity to develop skills, gain a philosophical overview, and build the network needed to advance to the presidency and succeed.
To date 278 protégés have graduated from MLI and 37 graduates have entered the presidency. The Class of 2008 is the tenth Class and this milestone will be celebrated throughout the year in a series of events commemorating the MLI Tenth Anniversary.
The Millennium Leadership Initiative (MLI) prepares the next generation of leaders. Congratulations to those selected and accepted into The MLI Class of 2008.
