Completion

President Obama has called for the United States to be first in the world in the number of people with a postsecondary degree by the year 2020. AASCU applauds this focus on producing more graduates, believing that the nation’s economic competitiveness, security and prosperity depend in large measure on how well the nation’s colleges prepare citizens for a knowledge-based economy. AASCU believes that affordable, accessible public colleges are essential to the success of the administration’s college completion agenda, and that increased attention should be paid at all levels to ways to improve college retention and completion.
