Lesley McBain
Lesley McBain is a consultant
for AASCU/SOC and a doctoral student in higher education at the University of
California, Los Angeles. Her research emphasis at UCLA is veterans education.
Before moving to Los Angeles, she spent five years as AASCU’s senior research
and policy analyst (July 2007 – July 2012); from September 2010 to August 2012,
she also worked concurrently as a special projects associate for
Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC). Prior to joining AASCU, Lesley was a
senior data editor for The College Board’s Annual Survey of Colleges in its
Reston, VA office. Her previous higher education experience includes having
been an assistant director of financial aid at The New School/Parsons School of
Design in New York City. She has a B.A. in English literature from Temple
University and a M.S. degree in higher education organizational administration
(concentration in institutional research) from Drexel University.
