Lesley McBain
Lesley McBain has been AASCU’s Senior Research and Policy Analyst since July 2007; in September 2010, she assumed additional responsibilities and a dual role as Senior Research and Policy Analyst/SOC Special Projects Associate.
Her responsibilities as Senior Research and Policy Analyst include providing a wide variety of research support to AASCU divisions and researching and writing Policy Matters and Perspectives pieces for DGRPA. In addition, she serves as AASCU’s representative to the National Postsecondary Education Cooperative and its Technical Review Panels and engages in other research- and policy-related activities. In her dual role as SOC Special Projects Associate, she contributes research, insights, data collection, analysis and writing on SOC-related areas. Lesley also represents both AASCU and SOC at veterans’ education-related regional and national conferences as needed.
Prior to joining AASCU, Lesley was a senior data editor for The College Board’s Annual Survey of Colleges in its Reston, VA office. Her previous higher education experience includes having been an assistant director of financial aid at The New School/Parsons School of Design in New York City. She has a B.A. in English literature from Temple University and a M.S. degree in higher education organizational administration (concentration in institutional research) from Drexel University.
