A special award was presented to the family of the late Arlene Jackson, AASCU’s associate vice president for global initiatives, in grateful appreciation of Jackson’s contributions to the field of international education and of her dedication to AASCU. The award was co-presented by AASCU President
Mildred García and Qin Wu, the executive director of the
CHEPD 1+2+1 Program, which gives Chinese students the opportunity to spend one to two years at an AASCU institution for undergraduate and graduate studies.
The ceremony on Sept. 17 drew attendees from international offices within AASCU’s member institutions; foreign embassies throughout Washington, D.C.; and from other international education organizations.
