China Center for International Educational Exchange (CCIEE) CHEPD 1+2+1 Program Annual Worker Bee
Meeting was held on September 28. Ninety participants from over 40 U.S. and
Chinese institutions attended the online meeting. Mr. Yin Kai, executive
director of CCIEE and Dr. Don Betz, executive director of International
Programs at AASCU delivered welcoming comments to the coordinators and senior
leaders from U.S. and Chinese institutions.
The theme of the meeting was “Assuring
Success and Safety for Chinese Students on U.S. Campuses.” Thirteen
representatives from George Mason University (Va.), Salem State University
(Mass.), Northern Arizona University, University of Wisconsin Eau Claire,
and other AASCU member universities shared their stories, programs, policies,
and activities regarding campus safety, guidelines for student success on each
individual campus, specifically focused on the CHEPD program students.
The feedback to the U.S. institutions from
representatives of Huaqiao University, Changshu Institute of Technology
and Lanzhou University of Finance and Economics demonstrated their support for
the 1+2+1 Program with useful suggestions related to the sustaining
successful student recruitment and program development.
The representatives of both the Chinese
and the U.S. universities expressed their appreciation to AASCU and CCIEE for
their leadership and support for the program development and student success.
