Operationalizing Stewards of Place webinars

The Grants Resource Center is hosting three webinars featuring contributors to the 2015 monograph, Operationalizing Stewards of Place: Implementing Regional Engagement and Economic Development Strategies. This free publication highlights real-world case studies and best practices drawn from state colleges and universities.  The fee for each webinar (one campus connection) is $60.

Intellectual Property Management for Small Research Offices featuring Richard Wellons (Grants Resource Center), Arjun Sanga (WiSys Technology Foundation), and Thaddeus Guldbrandsen (Plymouth State University, N.H.) 

Academic institutions approach intellectual property management individually and through larger state systems and resources for the benefit of their overall mission and their surrounding communities. Brief case studies of intellectual property management issues and solutions are presented as a way of identifying some common intellectual property needs and potentially replicable solutions.

Promoting the International Dimensions of Regional Development featuring Richard Dunfee (retired Grants Resource Center Executive Director) and Angela Rochet, Director, Office of Sponsored Research and Federal Relations, Fort Lewis College (Colo.)

The relationship between international education and development and regional economies is critical. The challenges of planning, designing and executing effective activities will be reviewed. In addition, public and private funding sources for international programming will be identified, and the importance of partnership arrangements will be highlighted.

Promoting Student Engagement featuring Elizabeth Ambos (Council for Undergraduate Research)

Academic institutions have developed successful strategies to both institutionalize student engagement practices and connect student engagement with regional economic development initiatives.
