Major Accomplishments:

The State University System of Florida Board of Governors voted in June 2015 to allow USF Sarasota-Manatee to lift the cap on newly enrolled freshmen and sophomores. This offers the potential to greatly expand future enrollments. Also that same month, USF’s board of trustees approved USFSM’s five-year strategic plan. And in May 2015, USFSM’s College of Education earned separate accreditation from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), now known as the Council for the Accreditation for Educator Preparation (CAEP). This represents an additional and specialized accreditation. USF Sarasota-Manatee, including all of its colleges, is wholly accredited through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. Also, in 2014, USFSM’s College of Business received separate, specialized accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
