four million students attend AASCU colleges and universities, representing 47 percent of all students at public
four-year institutions and 28 percent of all students attending
four-year colleges and universities.
- 77 AASCU schools have minority
students constituting at least half of their student population.
- AASCU represents 38 Historically Black Colleges
and Universities and 35 Hispanic-serving Institutions.
- Among all public four-year institutions, AASCU colleges
and universities educate approximately 49 percent of all minority
students. This includes 61percent
of all African-American students, 45 percent of all Hispanic
students, 49 percent of all Native Americans and Alaskan Natives,
