Cayla Eagon is an English major at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C. Her primary literary interests include British literature of the 18th and 19th centuries, with an emphasis on the role of women and feminist literature in general. She enjoys volunteering her time promoting literacy among adults as a tutor. She also enjoys conducting research within her discipline. Her most recent project is a feminist study of voice and silence in Frances Burney’s novel, Evelina (1778). Cayla credits her enjoyment of literature to her mother, who taught her how to read.
