2021 MLI Institute Application

Application Requirements

Successful applicants will demonstrate the leadership experience necessary to achieve a presidency or chancellorship in higher education or to advance to vice president or provost. In addition to the above experience, candidates must possess a terminal degree or have significant experience as a senior executive. Equivalent experience outside the academy in government or the private sector is acceptable. All candidates must be nominated by a president or chancellor, or by a chief operating officer from a large complex university or organization. In addition, an applicant must:

  1. Obtain a letter of nomination from their president, chancellor or CEO. The nomination confirms that the applicant's institution or nominating institution agrees to provide monetary support for their participation in MLI.
  2. If accepted, commit to participate in all of the scheduled sessions.
  3. After the MLI Institute, commit to participate in the yearlong mentor/protégé component and participate in professional coaching.
  4. Complete the application by Friday, January 29, 2021.

Application Form

Applications must be completed by Friday, January 29, 2021. Acceptance notifications will be sent in mid February.

    Berenecea Johnson Eanes (Class of 2012) has been selected as Interim President of York College

    Benjamin Akande (Class of 2010) has been selected as President of Champlain College. This marks his second presidency.

    Roger Ward (Class of 2019) has been selected as Interim Provost, Executive Vice President, and Dean of the Graduate School of University of Maryland Baltimore.
